Snapshots of the Music Ministry at NABC…
The beauty of candlelit faces of our language congregations — Cantonese, English, Japanese, Mongolian, and Vietnamese — singing Silent Night together in the darkened sanctuary lit by the Christmas tree and the growing light of candles
Young and old rocking favorite choruses of praise led by the worship team in weekly worship and at the annual church retreat — guitar, mandolin, drums, bass, and random shakers/tambourines “in the pews”
The timeless sound of classic hymns sung throughout the ages which connect us with all who’ve come before us and those who will come after us
Children in our K – 5 age group asking to sing a solo/duet in worship…then doing it!
A choral worship ensemble with members ranging from college-age to retired seniors who linger after rehearsals to get caught up on each other’s lives
People laughing so hard they’re crying as we sing silly songs at church retreat, celebrations, and anywhere we get a chance to sing silly songs
The energy and camaraderie of NABC (Not your Average Baptist Carolers) as we sing carols to and with long-term care center residents
High school and college youth–led services with youth instrumental ensembles, choir specials, and sharing an original musical created at summer youth camp
We are grateful for the gift of music which allows each and every one of us to actively participate together in songs that give voice to everything we’re feeling from “help us” to “hallelujah.” Like the expression “there’s an app for that,” songs of our faith give us a way to express the full range of our celebrations, our sorrows, our confessions, our questions, our fears and our hopes.
Our choral worship ensemble meets each Sunday morning in the sanctuary at 9 am for rehearsal. Consider checking it out — we would welcome you gladly!
